Solarin is World’s most expensive Android smartphone with military grade security

Sirin Labs from Israel is the new name in Android phone world, making its debut in London. But it is not just one of the promising fishes; it is a shark with a promising niche. The first phone from this company is called Solarin and will set you back GBP 9,500 plus taxes.

“Why?” you ask? Well, this 5.5-inch Android smartphone claims to be smarter than the others. The company claims that this is one of the most secure phones in the world. It comes loaded with features from companies such as mobile security, an anti-cyberattack software from Zimperium, and KoolSpan chip-to-chip 256-bit AES encryption. This is the same technology that militaries around the world use to protect their communications. Sounds Bond enough? Wait till you hear this: there is a special switch at the back that puts the phone in the cyber secure mode that stops any incoming calls.

The other specs are similar to any other smartphone available in the market, which is totally unjust provided the price range. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and the screen is a 5.5-inch IPS LED with a 2K resolution. It also features a 4040mAh lithium ion battery with claims talk time of 31 hours.

The device has started selling in the company’s flagship store in London’s Mayfair neighborhood. The device’s next store destination will be Harrod’s from the 30th of this month. While the heavy price tag beckons a lot of criticism and neglect from the common people, the target population here is clear. The company aims to sell the device to businessmen and high-profile employees who carry a lot of sensitive information on their devices.

Reports also say that the phone will only be sold to verified passport holders to cut off the misuse. Such technology could be harmful if put into the wrong hands, but this step reduces that risk.
